Ragnar Relay Leg 22 -- 3.6 miles (trial run)

Nothing too exciting about this run.

I slept from 5am-10am and then had 2 slices of toast with PB.  I watched Make It or Break It on my DVR before getting ready to run.  I had a gel before I left; I forgot to mention I had a gel before I left for my first leg this morning too.  I drove to the YMCA so I could punch in and then I ran 1.8 down Huff and on the lake path then turned around and came back!  It only took me 40 mins...all my miles were under 11:30/mile.

I dislike running when there is actually traffic out and I have to stop at the stoplights.  Usually when I am down there at 5:30am I can just look both ways and keep going...that or the lights are flashing making it a stop sign.  Well, I feel good and I am about to go have some lunch with a few friends.  I don't have anything else planned until 6pm (Ragnar meeting), and then running my final leg at 9:30pm!  Hopefully I will get a little nap in at some point...or at least just laying around and resting.

  1. Tara Jo ~ You are incredible & your determination is inspiring!! But I'm your big sister first so I'm sure you know what I'm going to say... BE SAFE! Use excellent judgement & please let ppl know where you're going (note on the counter of your plan or for sure wear some GPS). Please don't offer this info to mom that you run like this...she will worry & call you at all hours! And she'll do that to me too!
Second, I'm your friend also & am impressed with how you figure out the training you need to do to get your goal accomplished. You also surround yourself with very supportive ppl. I'm so thankful for that & for them! :)
I've loved you forever & always will! I'll also support your path & help when I can. Keep up the awesome training, make good decisions & know that you are prayed for everytime God puts you on my mind & tugs at my heart! Your are in His Hands & you are safe! (I'll just keep chanting that to myself:) LYL!! TC!! GBYA!! xo

  2. Great job Tara! I love how you have planned out your training. I'm getting there but still working on getting my legs used to running and running faster. I think I got distance, I just need speed. See you tonight!
